VCOs & frequency sources
Define the tuning and control requirements around the system the source will serve.
Specify the control path, not just the frequency.
VCO, synthesis and control projects require a shared view of the operating range, supply, control method, output interface and switching requirements. BJLC uses these conditions to scope selection, integration and development work rather than reducing a brief to one number.
What to clarify in the brief
| Frequency requirements | Target band, continuous or discrete adjustment, operating states and switching needs. |
|---|---|
| Supply and tuning | Power supply, tuning input, control range and startup sequence. |
| Output and load | Output connector, required level, load and downstream connection. |
| Control and evaluation | Control software, state readback and evaluation items such as phase noise, spurious content or stability. |
Define the deliverables
Source configuration
Define component or module configuration, supply relationships, interfaces and mechanical integration.
Control and verification plan
Agree tuning logic, state changes, checks and the documentation to be delivered.
Before you start
Does this page list stocked models and fixed specifications?
This page describes the service area. Model selection, performance requirements, availability and delivery are confirmed in the technical scope and quotation.
